Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): YIWEN from TAIWAN

This postcard was sent to us from Taiwan. It was sent by Yiwen, who lives in Taichung, 10962 kilometers away!


Yiwen sent us a lovely postcard with a waterfall from her country. She aks us in the back if we like them - yes, we do! Her postcard also comes with some lovely calligraphy -with two very large characters, and stamps with lychees, flowers and insects.

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): TATIANA from RUSSIA

This postcard was sent to us from Russia. It was sent by Tatiana, who lives in Chelyabinsk, 5079 kilometers away!


Tatiana is a primary school teacher (11 year-olds, she tells us in the postcard) who works and lives at the feet of the Ural mountains, in the outskirts of our European continent. Her city became an important industrial center during the Second World War, and now it also exports lovely wishes and beautiful postcards, it seems! In this one, we have a picture of (perhaps) a local cartoon character?

Stop 91 - Antalya

Our last postcard was sent to Antalya, in Turkey, 3436 kilometers away!























The postcard was the result of a direct exchange petition coming from Levent. It was sent by Alejandro, a Basic 2 student who wrote on a postcard with a picturesque view of the traditional fishing boats one can see in Testal beach.


On the back, Alejandro tells our Turkish friend some facts about our region, and invites him to come and visit us some day.

Stop 90 - Helsinki

Our last postcard was sent to Helsinki, in Finland, 2980 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to Arto. It was sent by Yolanda, a Basic 2 student who wrote on a postcard featuring a view of the Tambre hydro-electric power plant, with  neo-historicist building constructed by the famous Galician architect Antonio Palacios in 1924.


On the back, Yolanda informs our Finnish friend about the area surrounding the power plant, which is full of natural beauty and sights.

Stop 89 - Minsk

Our last postcard was sent to Minsk, in Belarus, 2922 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to Margarita. It was sent by Sandra, an Advanced 2 student who wrote on a postcard with a superb view of Pontenafonso, the medieval bridge that joins the two shores of the Tambre river and acts as a boundary between the townships of Noia and Outes.

Stop 88 - Pine City

Our last postcard was sent to Pine City, in the USA, 6373 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to the Philips Family. It was sent by María José, a Basic 2 student who wrote on a postcard with an outside view of the Santa María a Nova church, a little Gothic jewel that was built under order of Archbishop Bérenger de Landore, and which today acts as the Museum of Medieval and Guild Tombstones.


On the back, María José gives some informations about our region, our weather and about the church in the picture, which was actually the source of inspiration for a famous novelist!

Stop 87 - Samara

Our last postcard was sent to Samara, in Russia, 4407 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to Daria. It was sent by Irati, an Advanced 2 student who wrote on a postcard with a lovely view of a sunrise (or sunset?) over the Noia estuary, with a delightful contrast of light and shadows, and gold on the waters.


On the back, in a beautiful handwriting, Irati tells Daria about the good things of our area, including the sights pictured on the card as well as the food.

Stop 86 - Kiev (again)

Our last postcard was sent to Kiev, in the Ukraine, 3088 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to Margarita. We had already sent her one in February but it seems it must have got lost, and we are posting this replacement. This one was written by Agapito, a Basic 2 student who wrote on a postcard with a nice view of the whole of the Alameda park, one of the most beautiful places in Noia, although quite lacking now in poplar trees (the ones that give it its Spanish names, as álamos = poplars).


On the back, Agapito gives some information about himself and our town, and expresses his wishes of having Margo visit us sometime in the future.

Stop 82 - Neustadt

It was sent by Luz, an Advanced 2 student who wrote on a postcard featuring one of the traditional Noia tombstones that are collected indoors (and outdoors) of Santa María a Nova, and which usually have engraved symbols or images of the trades of their users; in this case, we have one of the most spectacular ones, with a pilgrim fugure.

Stop 79 - Čimhová

Stop 77 - Breda

Our last postcard was sent to Breda, in The Netherlands, 1418 kilometers away!


The postcard was sent to Jeroen. It was sent by Gema, a Basic 2 student who wrote on a postcard featuring the Gothic apse of San Martiño church, in Noia. The stained glass creates a lovely and colourful effect that enhances the Medieval beauty of the scene.


On the back, Gema gives some facts and information about our town and the church, including some legends that say that it is ill-omened (or at least, that its missing tower should never be either finished or even touched a lot), citing a tragic accident that happened many years ago in a filming episode.
