Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): TARA from THE NETHERLANDS

This postcard was sent to us from The Netherlands. It was sent by Tara, an American woman from Alabama who is currently living in the Dutch province of Drenthe, 1614 kilometers away!

On the card we can see a very curious graffiti, a very popular form os street art in big cities like Amsterdam; one of the figures that appears in it is Anne Frank, the famous girl-diarist.

On the other side, Tara sends us greetings and decorates the card nicely with a flowery band and a nice stamp on the top right-hand corner.

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): ALEX from RUSSIA

This poscard was sent to us from Russia. It was sent by Alex, who lives in Kazan 4304 kilometers away!

On the card we can see a beautiful view of the monastic complex of the Holy Dormition Convent, on Zilant Hill. It is a picturesque exampla of Russian religious architecture, with its gold-plated bulb-domes, and whites and blues. It was built in 1552 near the tombs of the dead Russian soldiers who had participated in the siege of Kazan, made famous in the west through S. Eisenstein's movie 'Ivan the Terrible'.

The card is written in Spanish, as Alex is a linguistics student, and our state language is one of the foreign ones he is learning. In the card he also kindly invites us to visit his interesting, historical city.

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): SUSU from FINLAND

This poscard was sent to us from Finland. It was sent by Susu who lives in Espoo, next to Helsinki, 2968 kilometers away!

On the card we can see a nice picture of lake Vättern, the biggest lake in Sweden. This made us think the postcard was from that country before reading it...

In fact, the postcard was sent from Finland, and Susu explains in the card that in fact, Swedish is an important language in her country, spoken in many areas and part of the official curriculum.

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): ALIESSIA from THE USA

This poscard was sent to us from Kansas, in the USA. It was sent by Aliessia, who lives in Wichita, 7168 kilometers away!

On the card we can see a lovely painting by one of the French Impressionist painters: Claude Monet. The painting (Low Tides at Pourville, near Dieppe) is houses today in the Cleveland Museum of Art, and shows a very nice sea view, along with a cliff and reflections on the water.

The text is quite brief, and in it Aliessia expresses her hope that we like the card (we do!) and some nice greetings.

Lovely postcard from DIANA!

This is not the first time that Diana, the instigator of our postcrossing movement at the Santiago EOI, has sent us a card. This time, she is thanking us for participating in the Postcrossing Meeting in Ribeira. It was our pleasure, Diana!!

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): CHENYAN from CHINA

This poscard was sent to us from Zhejiang, in China. It was sent by Chenyan who lives in Ningbo, 10481 kilometers away!

On the card we can see a lovely view of the sky. It seems that this is the view you can see from the Ciyun Temple, and the back of the postcard aptly names it 'Sea of Clouds'.

Although the sender is from China, she is currently staying in Taiwan, and that is were the postcard (and the view) come from.

Postcrossing Meetup (Received Cards): BIANCA from GERMANY

This poscard was sent to us from Baden-Würtemberg, in the southwest of Germany. It was sent by Bianca, who lives in Weinsberg, 1567 kilometers away!

On the card we can see many of the landmarks and sights of Öhringen, a town near Bianca's. Öhringen was known as Vicus Aurelii to the Romans. Eastwards of it runs the old Limes (Roman frontier wall) and numerous remains and inscriptions dating from the days of the Roman settlement have been discovered, including traces of three camps.

In the card Bianca tells us briefly about the things she likes, like writing letters and postcards and playing musical instruments.
